At the Lab of the Federal Bureau of Investigation the men finished watching Jeremy’s surveillance tape and began a discussion.

“So what do you think?” asked Jeremy

“They look pretty sure of themselves,” said the forensics special agent.

“They are false,” assured Jeremy. “It was an elaborate set up. Even the old lady was false.”

“They cooperated fully,” observed Van Dyke. “That is what the Judge is going to see.”

“Almost cooperated fully,” said Jeremy “The mud mask was pretty convenient. And for a woman who was just involved in [an] accident she looked in good shape. Good enough to appear in court.”

Waldo looked worried.

“What is your opinion?” Asked Van Dyke looking towards Waldo.

“I agree with Jeremey. They are false. but these people show no fear whatsoever.”

“A little paranoia,” suggested Jeremy.

“But it is leading,” clarified Van Dyke.

“Yes, I agree,” added Waldo. “Like they want us to be suspicious.”

“They want you to think they are in control of the whole thing. It is the organization,” said Egbert walking into the room

“Egbert,” began Waldo, “I want to you check all D.B.A.s and…”

“and look for a Geraldine Tory D.B.A. inside every bank,” finished Egbert.

“You read my mind.”

“I can do that right now,” said [an] astonishing looking woman walking in and interrupting.

“And you are?” asked Jeremy

“This is special agent Clarice,” said Waldo “She works in our banking division.”

“It will take me less than an hour if Geraldine Tory banks in the United States. If she banks outside the country, it may take longer.”

“Geraldine Tory is an actress,” said special agent Skipper walking by. “I saw her in my Fair Lady at the Broadhurst Theatre.”

“Does she look like this?” asked the FBI forensics officer returning with the photograph and result

“Yes” affirmed Skipper

Well there it is,” said Jeremy “She is a ringer.”

“Not so fast,” said Van Dyke

“Yes,” agreed Waldo “Wait.”

The forensic lab officer speaks

“None of the prints return a match. No record of any woman named Geraldine Tory, no record of birth of anyone matching with that name.”

“Geraldine Tory has never been in trouble with the law. That is what she said,” repeated Jeremy

“But Natasha Simmons has been in trouble with the police,” said Clarice returning with her laptop.

“Her prints did not return anything” said the forensics special agent.

“You did not run them through Canada,” said Clarice,

“Of course, the Canadians. What was I thinking?”

“Check the Crime Data Index of the United Kingdom to see if the men show up,” suggested Waldo.

Clarice opens her laptop.

“I need some prints to scan,” said Clarice who is handed a newly created scannable file.

Clarice scans the prints

A few moments pass by.

“Yup. They are with organization,” affirmed Clarice.

“They are not independent operators,” added Waldo

“What makes you think that?” Asked Van Dyke

“It is a spanish prisoner, only verifiable.” Answered Waldo. “Only the organization has the kind of power, resources and confidence to try this in the face of an investigation.”

¨Yes,” affirmed Van Dyke. “But I can assure you that the organization you think you know, it is not behind this.”

“You should come around more often,” said Waldo “I am not as up to date,”

“What do you know?” Asked Van Dyke

“I know the organization’s temples are vacant and their priests are no where to be found. What can you tell me?” asked Waldo

“I have been looking for organizational authority for the LGBTQ coalition now for six months and nothing but empty estates with mules and children living inside waiting to be contacted. We have had international surveillance waiting for these men to come home. We have all their hotels on watch and more than 3000 properties under surveillance. The top tiers of the organization are gone vanished without a trace. ”

“Yes” agreed Jeremy “We can’t find any LGBTQ coalition authority.”

“It is simple” responded Waldo. “Look to those involved in this case. There is your organizational authority. At least for this Geraldine Tory issue.”

“And so where is the motive? Asked Van Dyke

Waldo looks to Clarice. “Clarice I want you to look for a previous relationship between Bonzai Home Garden and Carlton Bogg.”

“Well, I know Bonzai Home and Carlton Bogg had a previous disagreement. Apparently Carlton Bogg hustled Bonzai Home and Garden for 3 million dollars a few years ago.” responded Clarice.

“So Bonzai is returning them the courtesy,” said Waldo

“Everyone thinks Bonzai is crazy for adding a virtual Designer,” Jeremy insisted.

“Bonzai don’t think they are crazy.”

“And they made a big show about it. A courtroom drama and the whole thing. It is very masterful,” said Van Dyke “Bonzai forced Carlton Bogg into the public light by provoking them to press charges using this Geraldine Tory routine,

“It would appear so,” agreed Waldo. “Carlton Bogg thinks their defense is a slam dunk and they do not have to pay.”

“Then Bonzai hired these people in advance,” suggested Egbert

“They would have to have thought it through,” responded Van Dyke.

“They would have to be very organized.” assured Waldo “Everything in its place”

“And made to look like Bonzai is stupid for even attempting to do what they did,” said Clarice.

“What does this mean?” asked Jeremy.

“Well all Bonzai has to do is prove that Geraldine Torrey legally exists. Now they have. I suspect Bonzai will raise the amount of their lawsuit having provoked defamation of character once this gets back into court.”

“It still does not make sense,” said Van Dyke. “Carlton Bogg has some of top minds and lawyers to whom they would have had to divulge the history of their relation with Bonzai.”

“Unless,” interrupted Egbert

“Unless what,?” asked Waldo

“Unless Carlton Bogg’s executives are not the same people. Even their corporate lawyers might not be the same.” responded Van Dyke.

“Meaning,” asked Clarice

“Carlton Bogg¡s original leaders those responsible for hustling Bonzai the first time around are no longer around, neither are the Lawyers.”

“But Bonzai does not know that,” question Jeremy

“Maybe they do,” said Van Dyke. “Maybe Bonzai’s leadership kept a better track of their business relationship and are working this situation for all that it is worth.”
